What is Jetstream for MSFS?
Jetstream is a Windows airline career companion for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. It adds airline employment, routes and rosters, flight tracking and grading, five career ranks, airline mastery, and customizable cabin announcements around flights in the simulator.
Is Jetstream free?
Yes. The current Jetstream public alpha is free to download and play. Optional in-app purchases are available, but spending is not required, and no Jetstream subscription is currently available.
Does Jetstream work with MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024?
Yes. The current Windows x64 release targets both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 through SimConnect.
What operating system does Jetstream require?
Jetstream requires 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11. It is not currently a macOS, Linux, Xbox-console, or mobile app.
Do I need a Jetstream account and internet connection?
Yes. A Jetstream account and internet access are required for sign-in and backend-dependent services such as authoritative flight settlement, live map, cloud backup, purchases, and updates.
Does Jetstream work with every aircraft?
Generic aircraft can use standard SimConnect variables. Enhanced switch-state support currently exists for selected PMDG, iFly, Fenix, FlyByWire, and iniBuilds aircraft families, but Jetstream does not promise detailed switch coverage for every third-party aircraft or version.
How does Jetstream grade a flight?
Jetstream samples bounded simulator telemetry during a career flight. Its backend checks flight lifecycle, route coverage, takeoff and landing evidence, detected aircraft, warnings, attitude, G force, and available configuration evidence before returning the authoritative 0–100 result.
Where does Jetstream store career data?
Jetstream stores detailed career data locally under the authenticated account on the Windows device. It also backs up selected career and logbook fields to Firebase under the exact authenticated account ID so progress can be restored on another device.
What can other pilots see on the Jetstream live map?
During an active leg, other signed-in pilots may see a temporary marker containing the public username, callsign, aircraft, rank, member number, departure, arrival, current in-sim position, and heading. The presence feed excludes stale markers and does not return the private Firebase account ID or store a flight-position history.
Are all 11 Jetstream cabin announcements automatic?
No. Jetstream has 11 customizable announcement slots with automatic flight-phase and cockpit-event cues plus manual controls. The ready-for-takeoff slot is currently manual-only.
Is Jetstream affiliated with Microsoft or the airlines in the app?
No. Jetstream is an independent, unofficial companion published by Blue Matters Studio, LLC. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft, Asobo Studio, aircraft manufacturers, or represented airlines.
What does public alpha mean for Jetstream?
Public alpha means the app is available to use while it is still changing. Features may change, break, or be removed; online services can be interrupted; and bugs, device failure, or version changes can cause progress loss.
