Jetstream requirements at a glance
- Operating system
- Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit.
- Flight simulator
- Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 or Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 installed on the Windows PC.
- Simulator editions
- Local PC installations from Steam, Microsoft Store, or Xbox Game Pass for PC can provide the supported simulator environment.
- Connection
- SimConnect, supplied through the supported Microsoft Flight Simulator installation.
- Jetstream account
- Required for sign-in, exact-account career ownership, online features, and flight settlement.
- Internet access
- Required for authentication and backend-dependent services such as settlement, live map, backup, purchases, and updates.
- Separate runtime
- No separate .NET SDK/runtime install is required for the packaged self-contained release.
Do I need the MSFS SDK or Developer Mode?
No. Those are development tools, not customer prerequisites. The same is true for Git, Git LFS, Visual Studio, VS Code, and the .NET 8 SDK. They appear in source-development documentation because they are needed to build Jetstream, not to install the released Windows application.
Which aircraft work with Jetstream?
Generic aircraft can use the standard simulator variables Jetstream reads through SimConnect. That supports core flight state and grading evidence without requiring a dedicated aircraft module.
Enhanced switch-state providers currently exist for these aircraft families:
- PMDG 737 and 777
- iFly 737 MAX
- Fenix A319, A320, and A321
- FlyByWire A32NX and A380X
- iniBuilds A350 and A340
“Enhanced” means additional cockpit/configuration states can be identified. It does not mean every aircraft, livery, beta version, or add-on update is guaranteed to expose every signal permanently.
Are CPU, RAM, GPU, and disk minimums published?
Jetstream does not currently publish separate CPU, memory, graphics, or storage minimums. This page will not invent them. A practical system must first meet the requirements of the installed Microsoft Flight Simulator edition; Jetstream then runs as a separate Windows desktop companion alongside it.
If measurable standalone hardware minima are established later, they should be added here with the test build, scenario, and date—not inferred from a developer workstation.
What is not supported?
- macOS and Linux desktop installations
- Xbox console as the place where the Jetstream Windows app runs
- MSFS sessions that cannot expose the required SimConnect connection to the Windows companion
- Offline account creation or offline authoritative flight settlement
- A guarantee of detailed aircraft-switch compatibility for every third-party aircraft
Basic installation path
- Install and update MSFS 2020 or 2024 on the Windows PC.
- Download the current Jetstream Windows installer.
- Install Jetstream and create or sign in to the Jetstream account.
- Open MSFS, then use Jetstream to select and start the intended career flight.
- Confirm the app reports the simulator connection before relying on live tracking or settlement.
